Fine art print inspired by Beirut, 2018, a work by Paris Petridis depicting the façade of the historic Barakat Building in Beirut — now home to the Museum of the Lebanese Civil War.
Once the epicenter of some of the deadliest battles of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990), the Barakat Building stands today as a site of remembrance, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
Petridis’s photograph captures a moment from an exhibition of 1950s portrait photography, discovered in the ruins of a former professional studio. Displayed on the building’s façade, the image resonates with the layered narratives embedded in the structure — personal, political, and architectural.
Petridis’s work opens a reflective space on memory and identity, inviting viewers to engage not only with the visible traces of the past but with the human stories that persist through destruction and renewal.
