The artist Chrysanthi Koumianaki created the jewellery series I picked up a leaf. It looked like a flower and I painted it with her three-year-old daughter. 
Their process began during daily walks through public spaces of Athens, where they collected small treasures from the ground—wooden sticks, stones, flowers, seashells, and other found objects. 
The artist views jewellery as performative sculpture, drawing parallels to printmaking through the creation of multiples—editions of everyday discoveries transformed into wearable art. 
Chrysanthi Koumianaki comes from a lineage of jewellery makers.
